Roulette
is the most popular casino table game in the world. While at first glance
the roulette table layout may appear quite complicated, roulette is actually
a very easy game to play and understand.
Next to the layout is the roulette wheel, which is divided into 38 slots
for the ball to land, and is numbered 1 through 36 and 0 and 00. You can
bet on any single number (straight up), a combination of numbers, or red
or black, odd or even.
Each of the one to six players at the roulette table is given different-colored
chips so that it's easy to keep track of the numbers on the layout you're
betting on. A player may choose the value he wishes for his roulette chips:
25¢, 50¢, $1, $2.
Players may also bet larger amounts by using $5, $25 and $100 regular
casino chips. Each roulette game begins when the dealer spins the wheel
in one direction, and then rolls a small ball along the inner edge of
the wheel in the opposite direction. The ball eventually falls into one
of the numbered slots. That number is the declared winner for that game.
In an hours time there are about 60-80 spins of the roulette wheel.
